Vinyasa yoga, often described as a moving meditation, is a dynamic breath-focused practice that utilizes sun salutations to link intelligently sequenced poses into a continuously flowing organic whole. We offer numerous Vinyasa Flow style classes. Click here to learn more.
Hatha yoga is an ancient asana practice that integrates breath, body, and mind. This class is a relaxed-paced yoga practice that integrates breath work with deliberate muscle elongation, toning, and spacial awareness. Hatha yoga creates the right space for self-transformation by providing a greater sense of balance and direction both physically and energetically. The systematic relaxation, pranayama (breath-work), and meditation in this class is meant to harness the mind’s attention and the body's strength. No prior yoga experience required.
Yin, Yin Flow & Ying/Yang
Yin focuses on the slow, patient, opening of the fascial layer of the body. The fascia is the connective tissue (shrink wrap) that underlies the skin, wraps the muscles, and holds the bones together. It is the conduit for the meridians of the body through which energy flows. Over time chronic tightness of this layer causes stiffness and inflexibility, restricting mobility and energy flow. Fascia responds differently than muscle and requires this slow approach to facilitate opening. This is a deeply meditative practice. No prior yoga experience required.
Yin Flow combines Yin and Vinyasa yoga. This class includes a 45-minute basic, but effective, Vinyasa Flow and 45 minutes of deep and meditative yin work. This class is appropriate for Vinyasa practitioners of all levels who are interested in the additional benefits of Yin opening, without forgoing the opportunity to move dynamically.
Yin/Yang combines the surrender component of a Yin practice that targets the fascial layer of the body that over time may stiffen and restrict both movement and energy flow, with a Yang practice that intelligently targets muscular action in important and potentially vulnerable joints to develop strength, stability, coordination and mobility.
Iyengar-Style Hatha is based on precise alignment, subtle actions, and use of props. Developed by the late, great BKS Iyengar, this practice is appropriate for students with injuries, arthritis, or other limitations who are looking to improve joint stability and flexibility. The Iyengar approach provides safe exercise while reducing pain, promoting healing, and preventing the reoccurrence of injuries. Students with a current vinyasa practice will benefit from better postural alignment, a better understanding of the poses, and more awareness through the intelligent use of props. No prior yoga experience required.
Yoga Detour™ is designed to explore the fundamental techniques of embodied functional movement. We will challenge your stability, mobility, balance, strength, and motor coordination through the full range of available and controlled movement. We will explore isolation, activation, mobilization, and integration of our bodies. We will load the joints isometrically, eccentrically, and concentrically in an all levels progressive approach. Students can work at their own pace and everyone is welcome to challenge themselves in a mindful and productive manner. This class is the perfect supplement to your regular vinyasa-style practice.

gentle / restorative yoga
Gentle/Restorative Yoga is appropriate for all students seeking the benefits of a very relaxing, gentle, and nourishing practice. The combination of gentle hatha and deep restorative work improves range of motion and joint mobility while reducing pain and the effects of stress. Students with injuries, arthritis, or other chronic conditions are welcome. Practitioners with limitations related to age or size as well as students with a more vigorous yoga practice will benefit from this practice. No prior yoga experience required.
Wise Warriors is great place to begin your yoga journey. This class is appropriate for those who are interested in a practice that will maximize function and minimize risk. Wise Warriors focuses on poses that improve balance, strength and flexibility. This class will help you recover from injury and retain the function commonly lost with age and chronic conditions.
Pilates Flow is combination Pilates and Yoga class. The first half hour we practice a Pilates mat class to activate the muscles of the core. Attention will be paid to strengthening the pelvic floor and the abdominals. During the second half hour, we will shift into a flowing vinyasa yoga class. The class will end with a short savasana.
