Inversion Workshop with Brent Coleman and Gillian St. Clair

In this workshop, we will organize and stabilize ourselves on multiple planes before fully inverting with a sense of calm and clarity. Handstand will get the majority of our attention, but there will be time for variations on forward balances and headstand as well. I will present steps for strength and awareness for beginners and fun transitions for the more advanced. The focus will be on careful attention to detail and everyone having a place to work in each exhilarating posture.

Brent and Gillian are on their way to lead workshops at Wanderlust in Vermont and are stopping in Buffalo to offer an Inversion workshop.

Tuesday, June 18th

6 – 8pm

Intro to Yoga Workshops

East Meets West Yoga will begin offering a monthly Introduction to Yoga Workshop at each of our two locations. These 2 hours experiential workshops will introduce students to foundational postures, breathing techniques and alignment principles, as they relate to a flowing Vinyasa practice. This Introductory workshops will consist of a slower paced yoga practice that includes Sun Salutations, standing poses, spinal flexion and extension, hip and shoulder opening as well as the preparatory stages of arm balances and inversions. Precise cueing and more detailed descriptions allow students to more deeply comprehend the basics of vinyasa yoga on a physical energetic and cognitive level, and to translate that comprehension into their own practice.

We have designed our Introduction to Yoga workshops for students who are new to yoga as well as current students with questions about the practice to join us.

Upcoming Workshop at emw @ elmwood village:
Sunday June 23
12:00-2:00 pm

Cost: $20 for new students. Since we are encouraging students with some yoga experience to attend, all students with a current class pass (including Groupon passes) can use their class pass to attend the workshop.( You will be charged for a single class)
